Coyote walks through the quiet desert carrying the elements of fire and water. As the sun sets, the air chills but his fire keeps him warm enough to contemplate the stars. He pours his water into a dish and uses the reflective surface as a fortune telling tool to read the answer to his question. When he is finished he’ll have drinking water for the long walk home. Like exercise training, or adopting a healthy diet, spiritual development requires diligence and forming habits. Start by making offerings to the spirit world at the base of a favorite tree, light a candle every time you write, or pull an oracle card to answer difficult questions. The more you practice the more you will see results. Develop a tool kit to prepare for new deserts that need to be crossed, and you will discover more along the journey.
